How does this work?

The script we are using gathers public information about you from your Steam profile.

What kind of information are you using?

We gather information such as your Steam custom URL, date you joined Steam, hours you have played as well as the top games you have been playing. It also gathers your online status, Steam rating and your Steam profile avatar.

Is this safe?

The short answer - Yes

The long answer - By using this script to generate your Steam profile banner you are only allowing the script to see what is made available to the public. We do not gather any private information or need user ID's or passwords to create our banners. The information we gather can only be seen on a public profile. If your profile is set to private or limited then this script will not work. Steam has security protocols to protect your personal information and only allow public information to be viewed if your profile is set to public. We can not see or use anything associated with your passwords or personal information.

At no time should you every enter your Steam user ID or password in any website that is not verified as a steam website. Doing so will compromise your Steam account.

Is my information stored some place on your server?

No, a "snapshot" of your Steam profile banner image is stored on our server but your actual information is gathered through Steam's website each time your banner is viewed on a forum or website.

I was told not to trust any kinds of scripts

This is a different kind of "script". It is in no way malicious. You are not actually using the script, it is run off of our server to generate your Steam profile banner image.

Do I need to install anything to use this?

No, you simply make your profile viewable to the public, make sure you have a custom URL set up for your Steam profile then generate your profile banner code and place it on your website or use it on a forum that supports the use of image tags.

Will there be more styles added?

Yes, I will be adding more styles as I get time so keep checking back

Will you make me or my clan a custom banner only for us?

Maybe - I have other projects I am working on. If I get time I might look into doing something like this for a small fee. Contact me and I can see what I can do.
